FAQ

How do you pronounce “Sevansa?”

Seh-VAHN-zuh. Learn more about how Sevansa started on the Our Story page.

What is the shelf life of your bar soaps?

Approximately 12-18 months from date of purchase.

How long will my bar of soap last?

Approximately 2-4 weeks with daily use. Be sure to store your bar in a cool dry spot when not in use in order to increase longevity of the bar.

What is cold process soap?

Cold process soapmaking is the traditional way of making soap. This involves combining oils with water and sodium hydroxide (lye) to create soap. This process is called saponification. After being cut, the bars cure on a rack for several weeks, which allows ample time for any remaining water to evaporate, leaving behind a solid bar of soap. No lye
remains in the soap after saponification. This way of soapmaking preserves the
nutritive properties of all of the oils and botanicals used.

Can I use your soaps and "All-Over Balm" on my face?

Yes! Our soap bars and All-Over Balm are gentle enough for use on face and body. In fact, the All-Over Balm is made to be used from head to toe (even on hair, nails, lips, feet, and any rough skin patches).

I have a nut allergy. Can I use your products?

Yes! In fact, all of our soaps and bodycare products are free of tree nut oils. We still recommend performing a patch test if you have particularly sensitive skin.

I have sensitive skin. Can I use your products?

Yes! Our nut-oil-free soaps and bodycare products are extra gentle, suitable for all skin types, and filled with plant-based goodness. That being said, we still recommend performing a patch test if you have particularly sensitive skin.

I'm pregnant. Can I use your products?

Our "All-Over Balm" and "Bare & Unscented Botanical Soap Bar" are formulated to be gentle enough for use on babies and pregnant women. However, as always, if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, we
still recommend that you consult with your healthcare provider prior to starting any new product.
