Sustainability
Sevansa is a botanically-inspired company dedicated to providing simple, yet delightful, handcrafted natural bodycare and home goods that are kind to your body—and the planet. We are constantly seeking ways to make our products and processes more sustainable, without sacrificing product quality.
As a result, Sevansa products are packaged in minimal, reusable, and recyclable packaging. Most packing and shipping material is paper-based and recyclable whenever possible. Also, certain botanicals are not found in Sevansa products due to the endangered or unsustainable status of these botanicals, such as palm oil, sandalwood essential oil, and rosewood essential oil to name a few. While there are now a growing number of sustainable farmers for these oils, we’ve decided to omit them from our products at this time.
All Sevansa products are vegan, cruelty-free, and full of natural plant-based goodness! Therefore, due to the natural composition of Sevansa products, all of our products are biodegradable. However, while our products are all-natural and biodegradable, most biodegradable products are broken down in soil, not water. Therefore, even the most natural biodegradable soap can negatively affect aquatic life in natural lakes and waterways. If you take our soap with you on a camping trip, the National Park Service recommends that you do not use any soap in a natural lake or waterway. It is recommended that you do all of your bathing, dishwashing, and cleaning at least 200 feet away from the natural water source. Please dispose of the soapy water in a 6-inch-deep hole in the ground to allow bacteria in the soil to properly biodegrade the soap.
