Olive Oil: Extracted from the olive fruit. Rich in natural squalene, which is a skin conditioner and antioxidant. Also contains oleanolic acid, which has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties. We use pure cold-pressed extra-virgin olive oil in our bar soaps.

Castor Oil: Extracted from the castor bean seed. Rich in natural vitamin E, which is a known antioxidant, skin conditioner, and anti-inflammatory agent. We use pure castor oil in our bar soaps and balms.

Jojoba Oil: Extracted from the seed of the jojoba shrub. Actually considered a “liquid wax” instead of a true oil. High in vitamin E, which is a known antioxidant, skin conditioner, and anti-inflammatory agent. We use pure golden jojoba oil in our balms.

Coconut Oil: Extracted from the seed of the coconut palm tree, and despite its name, is not a nut, but is actually a fruit. High in lauric acid, making it solid at room temperature and a good natural alternative to many synthetic or chemically-laden waxes used in candles. We use coconut oil in our botanical wax candles.

Cocoa Butter: Extracted from the seed of the cacao plant. Contains natural vitamin E, and is highly emollient, meaning it is superb at moisturizing dry skin. We use pure cocoa butter in our soaps and balms.

Mango Butter: Extracted from the seed of the mango fruit. Contains natural vitamin E and is high in phytosterols, giving it antioxidant and skin-conditioning properties. We use mango butter in our soaps.

Kokum Butter: Extracted from the seed of the Garcinia indica plant, a member of the mangosteen family. Highly emollient and therefore good for moisturizing and conditioning the skin. We use kokum butter in our balms.

White Kaolin Clay: Gently absorbs excess oil and impurities on skin, creating a gentle toning effect on the skin and making it suitable for all skin types. Also allows for gentle exfoliation of skin. We use white kaolin clay in our soaps.

French Clays (Pink, Green, and Red): Sourced from France, hence the name! Usually a natural mixture of kaolin, montmorillonite, iron oxides, and numerous minerals such as magnesium which all lend to the natural color variations of the clay. Like pure kaolin clays, French clays gently absorb excess oil and impurities on skin, creating a gentle toning effect on the skin and making them suitable for all skin types. Also allows for gentle exfoliation of skin. We use French clays in our soaps.

Rhassoul Clay: Found in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. Rich in naturally-occurring minerals such as silica, magnesium, potassium, and calcium. Absorbs excess oil and impurities from skin, creating a toning effect on skin. We use rhassoul clay in our soaps.

Bamboo Charcoal, Activated: Created by burning bamboo to create rich charcoal. Charcoal is “adsorptive”, meaning it binds certain elements (such as excess oil and impurities on skin) to the surface of its particles, which aids in wicking these substances away from the skin. We use activated bamboo charcoal in many of our soaps.

Carnauba Wax: Extracted from the leaves of the Brazilian palm tree Copernicia cerifera. This palm species grows wild and flourishes naturally in Brazil. It is not the same palm species as the Elaeis guineensis species, from which palm oil is extracted. Therefore, the Copernicia cerifera palm tree is not considered threatened or a threat to the environment. We use carnauba wax in our botanical wax candles.

Rosemary Oil Extract: Extracted from the rosemary plant. High in antioxidants and is therefore used to extend the shelf life of many foods and natural cosmetics. We use rosemary extract oil in most of our products.
